Human Shojaee steps down as CEO of Venture Cup.
Human Shojaee, who has been the CEO of Venture Cup since June 2013, steps down as CEO of Venture Cup. Morten Ugelvig Andersen, former National Manager of Venture Cup, has been appointed as the new interim CEO.
Venture Cup is the Danish universities’ cross-disciplinary association for student entrepreneurship and startup activities. Venture Cup organises two annual national competitions for startups, it has established the Nordic region’s largest mentor program, and has in the last three years established the University Startup World Cup, which is the first global competition for university startups and has become a new permanent event here in Copenhagen.
These are just some of the activities that Venture Cup organizes; Human, along with Venture Cup’s team of dedicated employees, can be given the honour for where the association stands today. Due to the fact that the association has now reached a phase where there is an increased focus on consolidating existing activities, Human and Venture Cup have chosen to go their separate ways. Human is stepping down as CEO, but during a transition period, Human will undertake certain tasks for Venture Cup.
“Human has made a great effort to develop and bring Venture Cup to where the association stands today. He is an initiative-oriented and visionary leader who has been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him all the success in his future endeavours” says Stephan Christgau, Chairman of Venture Cup, and continues: “I am also very pleased to welcome Morten Ugelvig Andersen as new Interim CEO. Morten has been with us for 6 years, he knows every corner of the organization and he has the overview necessary to ensure that Venture Cup can continue its ways.”
Venture Cup has been around for 18 years and is stronger than ever before. With a dedicated team, and committed partners, the organisation looks forward to an eventful year full of events and offers to committed university students with an interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.
