Nicolaj Hojer Nielsen, a serial entrepreneur who has co-founded and invested in 13 companies- he has been a full-time entrepreneur for more than 11 years, specialized in the tech area, and provides consulting to many biotech and medtech companies. With both startups and investor perspectives focusing on life science industry, Nicolaj broke down the business development processes for the startups, gave individual feedback on how to approach the target market, and prepped the startups for a concrete practice for them to establish some network in the Medica event.

The workshop was two full days training with Nicolaj, and on the 3rd day, the startups went to the world’s biggest medical event -Medica TradeFair, a perfect place to test what they have learned in the workshop and give it a try in the real world. At Medica, they approached potential suppliers, customers, and partners from all over the world, and had the unique chance to observe the competitors and industry’s newest technologies.

After a fulfilled training for a whole weekend, the startups gained a lot about how to plan and initiate a suitable short-term and long-term strategy, revisit their target segments and make proper changes, and rethink all the possibilities to connect with the market and distribution chains.

As the goal for this workshop is to give the startups some hands-on know-how on how to bring innovative health tech products to the market, the speaker Nicolaj is fond of the idea that the program and the workshop are focusing on talents more than the actual or current ideas.

The teams really need to learn that you can’t understand the market and needs from the library or at home, you have to go out and understand people, and understand what would make them adopt your innovation,” Said Nicolaj,

and that’s really an essential part of the workshop in my view: They ended with a “practice game” (aka. Medica), where they had the opportunity to go out and test their assumptions – and get the first stakeholder commitment.

Feedback from co-founders of the HealthTech startups

This workshop delivered beyond all expectations. We had an intense 2-day workshop facilitated by Nicolaj Højer Nielsen about bringing value to our business in different ways. This covered subjects such as what to be aware of when looking for distributors, identifying and narrowing down new potential customer segments and choosing your focus and finding the true value of your product for your different stakeholders.”-said Aleksander Moldt Haack, VenomAid Diagnostics.

Nicolaj Højer is incredible – His interactive style and immense knowledge make for one of the most effective learning experiences that I have had. My number one takes away from this workshop is the supreme importance of stakeholder commitment. At the early stages of a startup, it is alpha on omega.“- said Toke Faurby, TresActioзаймы лучшие без процентов

We offer autonomously operating robots, which can move in arbitrary shaped water, oil and gas pipelines con- tinuously monitoring and detecting erosion and leakage. Countries lose million tones of water, gas and oil from damaged tubes and sometimes it become dangerous for human life and nature when gas or oil pipeline gets damaged. So our product can find damaged or clogged places on their early stage in practically all kinds of pipe- lines over and underground. With the use of our product the damaged sections of a pipeline can be found faster, more easily, precisely and without digging the ground.

This means that maintenance and replacement of pipe- lines will be safer and much more cheaper. Our product is a robot which can move through the pipelines and investigate it with pressure, ultrasonic, flow sensors and camera which can shoot up to 4k video and save it in his memory card or sent it to connected devic- es. This robots autonomously move in arbitrary shaped water, oil and gas pipelines with diameters ranging from 10 cm up to 300 cm.
